Schools and universities are not only preparing future professionals; they are also shaping active citizens who can participate responsibly and meaningfully in democratic societies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">For this reason, democracy and human rights should not be viewed simply as topics within a curriculum. They are fundamental principles that can guide the way education itself is organized and experienced.<\/p>\n<h2>Education as a Space for Democracy<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Democracy is not learned only through textbooks. It is learned through experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">When students are encouraged to express their views, participate in discussions, collaborate with others, and take responsibility for their learning, they develop essential competences for democratic participation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Democratic education promotes:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>critical thinking,<\/li>\n<li>respect for diversity,<\/li>\n<li>active participation,<\/li>\n<li>responsible decision-making,<\/li>\n<li>dialogue-based conflict resolution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The Role of Human Rights Education<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Human rights provide a common framework of values that protects the dignity of every individual.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Human Rights Education helps learners understand:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>their rights and freedoms,<\/li>\n<li>the responsibilities that accompany those rights,<\/li>\n<li>the importance of equality and justice,<\/li>\n<li>ways to challenge discrimination and exclusion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">At a time when misinformation, polarization, and hate speech are increasingly visible, Human Rights Education plays a crucial role in strengthening democratic societies.<\/p>\n<h2>Preparing Citizens for the Future<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Today&#8217;s students will face challenges that extend far beyond national borders, including social inequalities, migration, environmental sustainability, artificial intelligence, and digital ethics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Addressing these challenges requires more than technical knowledge.
