MASTER PROGRAM

The Master Program “Identity, Education and Competences for Democratic Culture” is the first MA Program marking an international collaboration between 3 Departments of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Theology, Philology and Educational Studies) and the European Wergeland Centre of the Council of Europe. All the collaborating entities provide their expertise on Competences for Democratic Culture and insights on their implementation in Education.

PURPOSE OF THE MASTER PROGRAM

The aim of the Master Program “Identity, Education and Competences for Democratic Culture” is to disseminate democracy at all educational levels and processes through the training of teachers and professionals with an interest in education (formal, non-formal, informal) of any specialty in the Competences for Democratic Culture, placing human rights and the processes of identity formation at the centre of the educational process.

ATTENDING OUR MA PROGRAM

  • Exclusively online/distance learning courses
  • One-year studies (full attendance): 2 semesters of courses and the summer period for the MA thesis
  • 3 specializations available and distinct English-speaking and Greek-speaking Program
  • Possibility for full exemption from tuition fees and scholarships.
  • 75 ECTS awarded
  • Opportunity to obtain more ECTS by participating in the optional internship program/summer school
  • Tuition fee: 3.400 (EU) and 5.600 (international students)
  • MA (Master of Arts) Degree awarded upon completion of studies
