Application Procedure

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

Candidates may submit their application to participate in the Master Program “Identity, Education and Competences for Democratic Culture” within the set deadline as that appears in the Program’s Homepage. The call for applications for our English-speaking Program is due on September 2024. The academic semester will start on September 2025 (English Program).

Graduates that hold a degree from University Schools/Faculties in the field of Education, formal and non-formal, and in fields of the Curriculum taught in any Educational Level and from relevant domestic Departments or Departments of officially recognized equivalent foreign Institutions, as well as graduates that hold degrees from Technological Education Institutes (=Τ.Ε.Ι) in relevant fields, are eligible for admission in this M.A. Programme.

The maximum number of admissions in this M.A. Programme, taught online and offered in two languages (English and Greek), is set at 100 (one hundred) per specialization, therefore 300 (three hundred) in total.

Application Procedure

A Call for Applications is posted on the MA Program’s website with all the necessary information regarding the application procedure. All applications will be submitted on the website’s relevant form. For further inquiries, please contact us on secr_MAdemocracy@theol.uoa.gr.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

  • CV
  • Double-sided photocopy of the applicant’s I.D. or Passport
  • Copy of First Cycle Degree Certificate or a Certificate of Completion of studies
  • Analytical transcript of the grades in the undergraduate courses
  • English language Certification (Level Β2)
  • 2 Reference Letters
  • Scientific publications (if any)
  • Certification of professional or research experience (if any)
  • Greek language Certification or adequate, verified by the Selection of Admissions Committee, knowledge of the Greek language, for foreign candidates wishing to participate in the Greek speaking M.A. Programme.
  • A certificate confirming equivalence to Greek Titles for those who have degrees from foreign universities. For graduates of foreign Institutions that do not submit a certificate confirming equivalence to Greek Titles by the National Academic Recognition Information Center (NARIC/D.O.A.T.A.P) a special Committee is formed.

Candidates choose the specialization they wish to attend and the language of teaching in their application. After the deadline of the Call for applications, the portfolios are assessed and the Coordinating Committee posts the list of successful candidates.

Candidates choose one of the three (3) specializations in their application. The Coordinating Committee examines the applications and compiles the list of successful candidates of the three specializations in the MA Program.

SPECIALIZED COMMITTEE

For graduates of foreign Institutions that do not submit a certificate confirming equivalence to Greek Titles by the National Academic Recognition Information Center (NARIC/D.O.A.T.A.P) a special Committee is formed to verify the recognition of a foreign Institute or a certain type of degree.
