Kornarakis Konstantinos

Professor, Department of Theology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens

Konstantinos Kornarakis is a Professor in the Department of Theology at the Faculty of Theology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He specializes in “Christian Ethics – Bioethics”. After completing his studies in Theology, he pursued postgraduate studies in patristic theology (MA, 1994-University of Durham) and earned his PhD from the Department of Pastoral Theology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1992). He also studied Psychology at the Department of Philosophy, Education, and Psychology of the University of Athens. His areas of interest span Christian Ethics (moral theology and modern issues such as Bioethics, Ecology, and Technology), Patristic anthropology and psychology, and Orthodox Spirituality.

He is a Member of the Pontifical Academy for Life (the Bioethical Committee of the Vatican), a Member of the Bioethics Committee of the Church of Greece, a Member of the Deontological Committee of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, a Member of the Bioethical Committee of the Hellenic Pasteur Institute, a Member of the teaching staff of the Foundation of Pastoral Education (Archbishopric of Athens) and Chairman of the Supervising Board of Ecclesiastical Education (Greek Ministry of Education).
