Fr. Evangelos Markantonis was born and raised in Athens. He is a graduate of the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Sciences and the Department of Social Theology of the Theological School of the University of Athens. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Theology of the Theological School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a specialization in Pedagogy and is a Doctor of the Theological School of the University of Athens.
He serves in Secondary Education as a Theologian and Chemist and since 2019 he has been on secondment as a Scientific Associate in the Pedagogical Laboratory of Religious Education of the Theological School of the University of Athens, in the Practical Training of students for the acquisition of a Certificate of Pedagogical Competence.
His scientific interests are in the field of Environmental Education, Ecotheology and Environmental Ethics. He was Head of the Environmental Education and Awareness Center of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens and has written educational material on Environmental Education. He has also participated with announcements in international Ecotheology conferences.
