History
The Master Program “Identity, Education and Competences for Democratic Culture” derives from the Program STEP UP-DC (Student Teachers’ Practices for Democratic Culture) funded by Erasmus + and the State Scholarships Foundation (ΙΚΥ) leading to the successful training program “STEP UP-DC” and the creation of a bilingual platform (English and Greek). The online platform offers open educational resources (activities, study material, video lectures) focused on the teaching of Education for Democratic Citizenship (EDC) and Human Rights Education (HRE) and can be useful to all educators from Primary, Secondary and Higher Education. You can check out our online resources here.
Education is the cornerstone for the formation of democratic civic-mindedness thus Education for Democratic Citizenship (EDC) and Human Rights Education (HRE) should start as early as possible in school ingrained in all educational processes. Therefore, this particular MA Program has been designed to train educators from various backgrounds and fields in Competences for Democratic Culture, Human Rights, Intercultural Education and the processes of identity formation aiming at instilling Democracy in every aspect and level of Education ranging from the Curricula to the teaching methodology, the school and hopefully students’ everyday lives, so that they can become active and participatory citizens in the future.
