Kalogerogianni Foteini

Dr. Foteini Kalogerogianni is a graduate of the Department of Philology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She completed her postgraduate studies at the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology of the same university (Intercultural Education) and at the Department of History of the Ionian University (Historical Research, Teaching and New Technologies) and since 2020 she is a lecturer at the Department of Secondary Education of the Faculty of Philosophy. During the spring semester of the academic year 2023-2024, she teaches as a designated lecturer at the Department of Philosophy and Pedagogy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki the course “Teaching Methodology and Practice” and at the Department of German Language and Literature of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki the course “Teaching a foreign language to socially vulnerable groups”.

Since 2014 she has been participating in European research projects on the integration and education of Roma students and in training programmes in intercultural education and counselling. Since 2020, she collaborates with the Department of Secondary Education of the University of Athens for the implementation of the practical training of students of the MSc “Theory, Practice & Evaluation of Educational Work, direction: Intercultural Education”, with the MSc “Vocational Orientation, Counselling and Lifelong Education” of the University of Athens as a lecturer in the course “Multicultural Counselling” and as a supervisor of the practical training of students of the postgraduate programme. Furthermore, she participates as a co-teacher in the course “Intercultural Education” within the framework of the MSc Intercultural Communication of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Since 2021 she is conducting her postdoctoral research at the Department of German Language and Literature of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Her research interests and publications focus on intercultural education with emphasis on citizenship formation, critical pedagogy, language teaching in environments of cultural diversity and intercultural communication.
